BIOGRAPHY: The parents of William Aldermen are not known. This reference states it is not known whether he was an immigrant or born in Colonial Connecticut. He is first found in 1672 in Windsor, Connecticut where he made a land transaction. He married Mary Case, daughter of John Case and Sarah Spencer in Windsor on 22 Jun 1679. They lived in Windsor, later Farmington, and later in Simsbury. William and Mary had the following children: Mary Case b. 22 Sep 1680, Thomas b. 11 Jun 1683 married Mary Seagrave on 27 Apr 1702 he died 15 Aug 1715, John b. 1684 m. Sarah Case (a cousin) on 28 Oct 1719 he died 25 Feb 1758, William Jr. b. 20 Oct 1686 married Rebecca Osborn on 28 March 1716 he died 1717, Sarah b. 1691/2 married Thomas Moses on 5 Jan 1709, Joseph b. 30 Jun 1697 married Mindwell Case (sister to Sarah Case) on 30 Jun 1720. William Alderman died at Simsbury in 1697. Mary Case died there also date unknown. Both are buried there (Huxford Genealogical Society, Inc. Magazine, Leola Settle, Editor, Volume XIX, Number 4, page 298).
BIOGRAPHY: William Alderman died in 1697, leaving a considerable landed estate to his widow who married second Serj. James Hillyer in 1698. William Alderman is shown in the records of Farmington, Windsor, Hartford, and Simsbury, Connecticut as an extensive holder of real estate. These are documented on 15 Dec 1687, 24 Dec 1685, 29 Dec 1687, 21 May 1688, 25 Aug 1689, 21 Dec 1696. William Alderman was born about 1640, married Mary Case (b. 22 Jun 1660 in Massachusetts died 22 Aug 1725 in Connecticut.) on 22 Jun 1679 in Simsbury, Connecticut and had son Thomas Alderman born 11 Jan 1683 or 9 Jun 1683. William Alderman died in 1697 in Farmington, Connecticut. The estate was not settled until after 1720 (THE ALDERMANS IN AMERICA).

William Alderman was in Windsor in 1672 and in Simsbury in 1679. He married Mary Case daughter of John Case in 1679. They had the following children: Mary b. 22 Sep 1680, Thomas b. 11 Jan 1683, William b. 20 Oct 1686, Sarah b. 1692, John b. 1695, Joseph b. 1697. William Alderman died at Farmington in 1697. His widow married James Hillyer 30 Mar 1699.

BIOGRAPHY: Mary Case was the daughter of John Case and Sarah Spencer. Sarah Spencer was the daughter of Honorable William Spencer. William Spencer's wife was Agnes Tucker. William Spencer's father was Gerrard Spencer (christened in 1576 in England). Gerrard Spencer came to America in 1632 bringing his 5 sons, which included William Spencer. Gerrard was the son of Michael Spencer. Michael Spencer's father was John Spencer, born in 1568 (was in Stratford, England in 1576) and was married to Ann Gerrard. She was the daughter of Sir William Gerrard, the Lord Mayor of London in 1555. William Spencer returned to England in 1633 and brought back his wife Agnes Tucker on the ship Marie and John. He was a member of the First House of Representatives in 1634 and served until 1638. The will of Mary Hillyer, of Simsbury, Connecticut, dated 12 Aug 1725. She left to her 3 sons, William Alderman, Jr., John Alderman, and Joseph Alderman my lands. The first is a piece of pine land on the west side of the river given me by my father John Case, the other is 5 acres of marsh land lying under West Mountain, all of my moveable estate except my wearing apparel I give to my daughter Elizabeth Hillyer. I appoint my son John Alderman as my executor. Inventory taken shows £23 11s and 7p, the reason Thomas Alderman was not mentioned was because he died in 1715 (THE ALDERMANS IN AMERICA).
