BIOGRAPHY: Thomas Alderman was born 11 Jun 1683 or 9 Jan 1683 (record not legible) in Simsbury Connecticut. He was the son of William Alderman and Mary Case. On 27 Apr 1702 he married Mary Seagrave in East Hampton, Long Island, New York. Nothing is known of Mary Seagrave's ancestors. The children of Thomas Alderman and Mary Seagrave: infant b. 1704 died 31 Mar 1704, Mary b. 1705, Thomas b. 1707, William b. 1709 married Abigailhe died 1759, Daniel b. 1711 married Abigail Harris in 1740 he died Oct 1785. Thomas Alderman was a weaver by trade and a Presbyterian by faith. He established the Fairfield Presbyterian Church on 19 May 1708. He died 15 Aug 1715 in Cohansey Precinct, Salem County, New Jersey leaving widow and children. At his death Thomas Alderman owned property in Simsbury Connecticut. By his will he bequeathed this land to his youngest son Daniel who is also the ancestor of the southern branch of the Alderman family (Huxford Genealogical Society, Inc. Magazine, Leola Settle, Editor, Volume XXI, Number 1, page 41).

MARRIAGE-SPOUSE-BIOGRAPHY-DEATH-PROBATE: Thomas Alderman moved to East Hampton on Long Island at 19 years old and married Mary Seagraves on 27 April 1702, the Reverend Nathaniel Huntting officiating. He then moved to Cohansey Section of Salem County, New Jersey. He was a weaver by occupation. He lived a clean and upright life, and helped establish the Fairfield Presbeyterian Church on 19 May 1708. He and Mary were charter members. He died at the age of 32.
