!MILITARY-RESIDENCE: Roster of Revolutionary Soldiers in Georgia, vol. III, compiled by Mrs. Howard H. McCall, Genealogical Publishing Co., Baltimore, MD., 1969, p 184. William Peters was a Revolutionary War Soldier who received pension. He was known to live in Lowndes County, Georgia in 1846.

!MILITARY: Folks Huxford, PIONEERS OF WIREGRASS GEORGIA, Volume VII, Jesup, Georgia: The Jesup Sentinel, 1975, page 479. William Peters was shown in a report made in 1846 by the Secretary of War giving names of all Revolutionary War pensioners. He was a resident of Lowndes County at the time. Neither he nor his wife was living in 1850, so he must have died between 1846 and 1850. Mrs. Mary Virginia Carter of Talbotton, Georgia became a member of the DAR on his record (#573467).
