HUSBAND NOTES:
Joshua Blanton II was born in Prince Edward County, Virginia. He was the son of Joshua Blanton, Sr. He was a Revolutionary War Soldier. Both sets of Joshua's children were said to have grown up in the vicinity of Harrell's Store in Sampson County, North Carolina. He moved to the area of Loris, South Carolina in 1832. We know 3 of the sons, Moses, David, and John moved to Georgia, though they were married in Duplin County, North Carolina. He married Mary Alderman on 3/24/1787 in North Carolina. Mary Alderman was the daughter of John Alderman and Mary Cashwell and was born in 1771 in New Jersey. John Alderman was born in 1742 in New Jersey. He married Mary Cashwell in New Jersey in 1770. John Alderman died 8/1822. Joshua Blanton is listed in the Duplin County, North Carolina, Wilmington District census of 1790. Living in the household were 1 white mail over 16, 1 white male under 16, and 2 females. There were no slaves listed. Mary Alderman Blanton died in 1812 in Duplin County, North Carolina. Joshua married Keziah Alderman on 10/17/1814 who was the sister of Mary. Joshua died in 1850 in North Carolina.
