!CHILDREN-SPOUSE: Ancestors of Lillian Dell Moore (Bargeron) as shown on an old chart that was found in her possessions after she died. It is believed that this chart was prepared by Lundie Barlow (her brother-in-law who was an accomplished genealogist). This chart was probably written in the 1960s. The originial is in the possession of Tommy Bargeron, 721 West 12th Street, Tifton, Georgia.

!BIOGRAPHY: MEMOIRS OF GEORGIA, VOLUME II, Atlanta, Georgia: Southern Historical Association, 1895, page 511-512. McKinney Howell came to Georgia with 4 of his brothers from North Carolina and was the only brother to remain in Georgia and was of the earliest settlers of Greene County. His wife was Mary Johnson and his son Matthew C. Howell was born in Green County in 1812. He married Sarah Simonton and they made their home in Greene County. They had a son named Samuel A. Howell.

The 1827 Militia List for Taliaferro County in GMD 608, Captain Alford's District, list MacKinney Howell as head of household with 1 male under 18, 1 male 18-45, one over 45, 1 female under 14, 2 females 18-45, and 14 slaves.

!CENSUS: 1830 Census of Taliaferro County, Georgia, records McKinney Howell who had 3 males, 3 females, 13 slaves, and 1 male free person of color (page 363).
