HUSBAND NOTES: David Blanton was born 3/9/1791 in Duplin County (now Sampson County), North Carolina. He married Nancy Goff on 12/10/1811 (maybe 12/20/1811). Nancy Goff was born on 3/9/1792 Duplin County, North Carolina, and died in 1870. He lived near Harrell's Store in Sampson County, North Carolina. (Harrell's Store was on the line between Sampson and Duplin Counties) He moved to Brooks County, Georgia in 1832. He settled where the city of Quitman is now and build a plantation a few blocks west of where Brooks County Courthouse is now located. He and Nancy were members of Bethany Primitive Baptist Church in Brooks County. He lived there until his death in 1/1/1837. The only child that was born in Georgia was John N. Blanton. David was a farmer. His oldest son James A. Blanton was administer of the estate. Nancy lived with her son John Newton Blanton in later years and died a member of Unity Church in Lowndes County around 1870.
