The Confederate Pension Application dated 19 Aug 1908 confirms the birth, and residence of W.J. Peters. In 1908 he was listed as indigent and did not own any land. He had received support from his children since 1901. In 1908 he had a wife and two children at home with him. The application states he suffers from nervous or periodic headache leaving him unfit for any kind of labor or business.
