BIOGRPAHY: William Carpenter of Rehoboth (in 1645) was married to Abigail born 1606. He came with her and his father in 1638 on the Bevis from Southampton. He brought 4 children named William, Joseph, Samuel, and one unknown. All born in England and were under 10 years of age in 1638. After arriving in the colonies they had the following children: Hannah b. 3 Apr 1640, Abraham or Abijah b. 9 Apr 1643, and John. After the death of his father William moved back to Weymouth where he first resided (Genealogical Directory of the First Settlers of New England, Volume I, page 337).
