HUSBAND NOTES:
BIOGRAPHY: Thomas Ford of Dorchester came in the Mary and John in 1630 and requested admittance in October of 1630. He was sworn in the 18 May 1631. He brought children Abigail who married John Strong in 1638, Joanna who married Roger Clapp in 1633, a daughter unknown name who married Aaron Cooke, and Hepzibah who married Richard Lyman. Thomas Ford was a Representative in 1638 to 1641, 1644, and 1654. His wife, name unknown, died April 1643, and was burried 18 Apr 1643. He married 7 Nov 1654 Ann the widow of Thomas Scott of Hartford. They had a daughter, Ann who married Thomas Newberry of Windsor on 12 Mar 1677. Thomas Ford moved to Northampton in his old age and died 9 Nov 1676. (3) Daughter Mary or Miriam b. 18 Aug 1612 in England and died 1644 married Aaron Cook. Lists other children: Sarah, Thomas, Joanna. His wife is shown as Joan Way, born 1588 in Bridport, Dorset, England. She died in England date unknown. Her parents were Stephen Way and Ursula Gill (Genealogical Directory of the First Settlers of New England, Volume II, page 183).

Copies in possession of Diane Blanton Bargeron and June Blanton. Thomas Ford was an Immigrant. He lived in Dorchester in 1630, in Windsor in 1636 and was a Deputy, and in Northampton in 1659. Thomas Ford died in 1676. His daughter, Joanna Ford was born 1617 and married Captain Roger Clapp.

!MARRIAGE: GEDCOM file obtained via Internet from Genealogy Online. ftp site address is "genealogy.emcee.com" - file "ag18.ged". According to this information Thomas Ford married Joan Way (1588-?) on 13 Dec 1610 in England and shows Joanna as one of their children who was born on 8 Jun 1617. However this same source shows he married a second time to Elizabeth Chard (1589-1643) on 19 Jun 1616 in England. This source shows he later married Mrs. Ann Scott on 7 Nov 1644 in Windsor, Connecticut.
