HUSBAND NOTES: John Cogswell of Ipswich, a new town not far from Boston, came from Bristol in 1635 on the ship Angel Gabriel, and wrecked 15 Aug 1635 at Pemaquid, Maine due to a storm. He brought William b. 1619, John b. 1623 and Edward b. 1629 when he came over. Other children that were born to him and wife Elizabeth were: Mary perhaps she was the maid servant of Governor Bellingham that joined the Boston Church 29 Aug 1647, other daughters included Hannah, Abigail, and Sarah b. 1647 married Simon Tuttle. It may be thought that some of these children were not by wife Elizabeth. He is descended from Lord Humphrey Cogswell. He settled in Ipswich in 1635. He received 300 acres of land also 8 acres of land where he built his house on the corner of Bridge Street.
