HUSBAND NOTES: - !BIOGRAPHY: James Thompson was left an orphan at age 10. He was bound to Patrick Hagan. At age 13 he ran away to Scotland and was taken in by the John Alexander family. He married their daughter Ruth. He and the Alexander family migrated from Scotland to 20 miles west of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the 1730s (Calvin T. Floyd, THE THOMPSON FAMILY, June 1982 copy on file at the Madison County Library). !BIRTH-DEATH-CHILDREN-SPOUSE-PARENTS: Broderbund World Family Tree CD ROM, Volume 4, file #3752. The will of James Thompson is dated 3 Feb 1748, leaving property to his sons Alexander, Samuel, James, Robert, and William. He came from Scotland and settled where Philadelphia now stands.
