His wife is shown as Lucy Smith (?-1687), they were married in 164?, Lucy Smith is the daughter of Frances Smith, an Immigrant. The child shown of Thomas Gardner and Lucy Smith was Mary Gardner (1648-?) who married Thomas Boylston (1645-1695) (Stanwood E Flitner).
BIOGRAPHY: Thomas Gardner of Roxbury was the son of Thomas Gardner. He was born in England. He was married to Lucy Smith on 4 Jul 1641. They had the following children: (a) Andrew b. 5 Mar 1642 married Sarah Mason on 20 May 1668 - He was lost in the expedition of Sir William Phips against Quebec in 1690 - He was a Captain and Representative in 1689, (b) Thomas b. 1645 married Joanna Stanton and Lucy Monk,(c) Abigail baptized 15 Feb 1646 died Aug 1649, (d) Mary baptized 9 Apr 1648 married Thomas Boylston on 13 Dec 1665, (e) Peter b. 8 Dec 1650 died 24 Aug 1653,(f) Abigail b. 6 Dec 1652 married Rev. John Wise, (g) Lucy b. 11 Feb 1655, (h) Joanna b. 25 Jan 1657,(i) Joshua b. 8 May 1659, (j) Caleb b. 13 Apr 1662 died at 19 years old. Lucy Smith died 4 Nov 1687 and Thomas Gardner died 15 Jul 1689. In his will made 3 days before death he provides for Thomas, Joshua, and daughters Mary, Abigail, and Joanna (Genealogical Directory of the First Settlers of New England, Volume II, page 226,231).

Thomas Gardner left a will in which the children are mentioned, his home was in Muddy River, now Brookline (Colonial Families of the United States of America, Volume III, page 587-588).
