HUSBAND NOTES: - BIOGRAPHY: John Denison of Stonington was the eldest son of George Denison. He was born 14 Jun 1646. He married Phebe Lay in 1667. She was the daughter of Robert Lay of Saybrook. Their children were: Phebe b. 1667, John b. Jan 1669, George b. 28 Mar 1671 graduated Harvard 1693 "A man of much distinction", Robert b. 17 Feb 1673, William b. 17 Apr 1677, Daniel b. 28 Mar 1680, Samuel b. 23 Feb 1683 died soon, Ann b. 3 Oct 1684, Phebe, Sarah b. 29 Jul 1692. The following are comments on the children of John Denison: John Denison, the oldest son, had the Saybrook lands given to his mother by her father. George Denison, his son, was clerk of court. Robert Denison had a son named Robert who at the taking of Louisburg in 1745 was captured, served in Gov. Wolcott's Regiment, and was made Major for good service.
