BIOGRAPHY: Seaborn Cotton was the eldest son of John Cotton and Sarah Story born at sea on the Griffin 12 Aug 1633. He was baptized 8 Sep 1633 in Boston. He graduated from Harvard College in 1651 and married Dorothy Bradstreet, the eldest daughter of Gov. Simon Bradstreet, on 14 Jun 1654. They had the following children: Dorothy b. 11 Nov 1656 married Joseph Smith, John b. 8 May 1658 graduated from Harvard College in 1678, Sarah b. 22 Feb 1660 died soon, Ann b. 22 Aug 1661 married Mr. Carr she died 7 Dec 1702, Sarah b. 2 Jul 1663 married Richard Pierce on 27 Aug 1680 she died 2 Aug 1690, Elizabeth b. 13 Aug 1665 married Rev. James Alling and Rev. Caleb Cushing, Mercy b. 3 Nov 1666 married Peter Tufts, Abiah b. 15 Apr 1669 died soon, Mary b. 22 Apr 1670 married John Atwater and Samuel Partridge. Dorothy Bradstreet died 26 Feb 1672. Seaborn married a second time to Prudence Wade, daughter of Jonathan Wade of Ipswich and widow of Dr. Anthony Crosby of Rowley, they had the following children: Roland b. 29 Aug 1674 graduated from Harvard 1696 went to England and Holland to acquire skills in medicine and acquired a degree and was a physician at the Isle of Wight and he died in 1753. There last child Wade b. 6 Oct 1676 and died young. Seaborn Cotton preached at Windsor and other places but was ordained at Harvard after a long trial in 1660. He died 19 Apr 1686 and was buried 23 Apr 1686 (Genealogical Directory of the First Settlers of New England, Volume I, by James Savage, Baltimore, Genealogical Publishing Company, 1990, page 464).

He was the son of John Cotton. Born at sea in 1633. Daughter was Sarah Cotton who married Richard Pierce.
