Carter is listed in the muster roll of Company G, 26th Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry of Virginia. He was a private 21 Sep 1861, died of pneumonia at Richmond, Virginia 8 Jan 1863. CAUTION - It is not known for certain that this is the same John C.
