John DANE (?-1658) (1) John Dane was an immigrant of Roxbury. He had a son named Dr. John Dane who married Eleanor Clark. (2) John Dane of Roxbury was from County Essex in England. He came over in 1636 bringing children from deceased wife Frances. Children were Elizabeth and John. He later married Ann or Hannah or Annis widow of William Chandler on 2 Jul 1643. He died says town records, buried says church records on 14 Sep 1658. His will of a week preceding was probated 16 Oct 1658. Will names only those children of who he called Elizabeth Howe, perhaps wife of Abraham Howe of Roxbury. He had lived in Ipswich and then moved back to Roxbury. His widow had a third husband John Paramenter of Sudbury and she died 15 Mar 1683. (3) According the reference of William Chandler (1595-1642) the second wife of John Dane was Annis Alcock widow of William Chandler.
