He was tax collector of Clynch County from 1853-1854, Justice of Inferior Court of Berrien County 1861, 1862-1868, tax collector of Berrien County 1877-1879, Coroner of Berrien County 1891-1895. He was in Company G, 29th Georgia Infantry Regiment CSA in 1861 and served throughout the war.
