BIOGRAPHY: Caleb Dana was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was baptized on 13 Aug 1733. He died in Wallingford, Connecticut while on a visit to his brother James Dana on 17 Apr 1769. He married in Cabridge on 24 May 1756 to his cousin Sarah Ballard. Sarah was born in Andover on 29 Jul 1735. She was the daughter of Josiah Ballard and Mary Chandler. She is mentioned in her fathers will made on 4 Aug 1780 as the widow Sarah Dana. She was a resident of Cambridge in 1789. The children of Caleb Dana and Sarah Ballard are: (a) Charles Dana b. 1757 d. before 2 Sep 1790 (b) Orlando Dana baptized 23 Sep 1760 (c) Henry Dana baptized 19 Sep 1762 died 20 Feb 1817 (d) Caleb Dana baptized 14 Sep 1766 (e) James Dana born about 1768 (The Dana Family in America, page 480-481).
