BIOGRAPHY: Thomas Sanford Tolbert's grandfather was R.H. Tolbert Sr. Known children from these notes are: Osborn Tolbert - b. 26 Jan 1803 d. 23 Feb 1880 m. Martha L. (born 1803 died 9 Mar 1882) and other child Harmon Tolbert (born 10 Nov 1806 died 21 Sep 1892) m. Permelia Williams on 17 Mar 1829 (Willie Mae Tolbert Johnson Dec 1995).

NOTES: Permelia Williams, b. 1810 Jackson Co., Georgia m. 3/18/1830 Harmon Tolbert, Madison Co., Georgia b. 1807 N.C. (documents marriage of son Harmon to Permelia Williams) Comments: This reference may indicate that Thomas Sanford Tolbert was from N.C. (since son was born there), although he was from Madison County at the time of the marriage (The Georgians Genealogies of Pioneer Settlers, page 399).
