!CENSUS: The 1850 census shows that Robert F. Ellison, father of Mary Rebecca Ellison, was 48 years old, a farmer, and owned real estate worth $1500. His wife was Cynthia H. (age 30) He had 6 children named as follows: Joseph G. Ellison (age 13), Mary Rebecca Ellison (age 11), Sarah M. Ellison (age 7), Henrietta E. Ellison (age 5), Robert J. Ellison (age 2), and Nancy Ellison (age 1).
!RESIDENCE: The Burke County, Georgia tax digest of 1850 shows Robert Ellison owned 250 acres of improved land and 1,250 acres of unimproved land. The cash value of the farm was listed as $1,500. He also owned $225 in farm improvement machinery, 6 horses, 2 mules or asses, 10 milk cows, 5 other cows, 14 sheep, 60 swine, with a livestock value of $731.
